Producer: Mount Horrocks
Region: Clare Valley
Mount Horrocks Wines is operated by proprietor / winemaker Stephanie Toole, who restricts production to approximately 4,500 cases per annum to achieve her aims of quality and single vineyard expression. Mount Horrocks Wines has vineyards at three sites totalling 10 hectares, in the Clare Valley. Cordon Cut refers to a unique process which involves cutting the canes when the grapes are ripe, allowing the grapes to concentrate and raisin naturally on the vine. The wine is pale yellow-lime in colour. It displays incredibly delicate yet intense fruit of orange and mandarin, with honey, spice and mineral highlights. The fine, zingy acidity balances the fruit ensuring a delightful flavour and long finish, without being cloying. A wonderful wine which has won many accolades including Gold at this years Decanter World Wine Awards.
