Producer: Southern Right Vineyard
Region: Walker Bay
Country: South Africa
The Southern Right wines are named after the rare Southern Right whales which frequent the cool South Atlantic Walker Bay only a few kilometres from the vineyard. With each bottle sold, Southern Right cellars make a contribution to Southern Right whale conservation. Yet another reason to try this excellent Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa, a delicious mouthful of pure fruit. The style is somewhere between the upfront fruity style of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and the steely minerality of the Loire and suits the wine very well. The grapes are picked at three different points of ripeness to give the extra complexity and fullness of flavour to the wine - delicious on its own or with seafood.
