The Florita Riesling 2008

Producer: Jim Barry
Region: Clare Valley
The Florita vineyard was bought by the Barry brothers in 1986 and used to be the source of the great Rieslings from Leo Buring in the 1960s and 1970s. The inaugural 2004 vintage immediately gained international recognition with Jancis Robinson rating it alongside great Rieslings such as Trimbach's Clos Ste Hune which costs up to £100 per bottle. The nose of this wine reveals a complex explosion of intense citrus notes – grapefruit, lime and mandarin – supported by underlying floral characters of orange blossom, honeysuckle and rosewater. The palate shows great length of flavour, with an abundance of citrus fruits, complementing those seen on the nose.
