Producer: A Mano Madonna delle Grazie
A Mano, meaning ‘hand made’, is based in. The A Mano team have made the Primitivo grape variety one of the most talked about wines. The grapes selected come from 70 to 100 year old vines. The quality of their wines are shown by the fact that their second vintage of Primitivo won a gold medal. These really are unique handcrafted wines. Puglia, or Apulia as it is called in English, is Italy's boot heel - its southeastern most region. It is a long, narrow peninsula, mostly occupied by plains and hills, apart from some lower mountains of the Southern Apennine chain and the Gargano promontory, with high, steep cliffs. The arrival of sector professionals from other regions and nations has led to a surge in financial investment and knowledge and skill. The region also has extremely favourable soil and climate conditions, while at the same time offering very high quality potential. Certainly the quality of Puglia’s traditional red varieties are no longer in dispute.
