Chateau du Glana 2004
Per bottle Return to your selection
Producer: Saint Julien
The 2002 vintage was what they call a cold vintage with a good start and an Indian Summer producing a low yield. The grapes were picked later than usual under sunny skies. The fruit was healthy with uncommonly high sugar levels - it was a wine makers challenge but a successful one. The average age of the vines are 21 years and the terroir in St Julien is the famous Garonne soil of limestone and brick. It contains around 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The wine is maturated for 12 month in new oak. Drink now or leave for another 5 years.
