Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda 2004
Per bottle Return to your selection
The Vigna Rionda vineyard is recognised as one of the 35 Serralunga crus and widely considered to be one of the commune's greatest. The vineyard is located 330m above sea level and is ideally suited for Nebbiolo. Low average yields combined with the soil and microclimate enable the production of wines with optimum balance of structure, aroma and finesse rarely found elsewhere. The wine spent 38 months in oak casks of varying sizes (15-50 hl) before bottling in July 2002. While the 1997 was one of the best Barolos of the vintage, the 1998 is even better. Intense with notes of truffles, it is also fresh, while on the palate it is rich and balanced with great length and supple, ripe tannins. A wine to be savoured with rich and very tasty dishes such as red meat, game and strong cheeses.
