The area around Luján de Cuyo in the Mendoza province has long been known as “The First Zone” and reflects the fact that it is located in a privileged spot for high quality wine production. This is due to the fact that the vineyards are located 900 m above sea level, the soil is well drained and naturally irrigated by the crystal water from the Andes mountains and a sunny climate with more than 250 sunny days a year. Temperature differences between night and day help the vines to relax and allows the fruit to achieve natural ripeness while retaining freshness. The wine is produced by Bodegas Norton – the largest and most international known – in this case it stands for high quality as they proud themselves in only taking the best from the liaised vineries. The blend Sangiovese and Malbec works very well as at a young age as the powerful Malbec is softened with the approachable Sangiovese. You will taste lot’s of berry fruits with a soft velvety finish.
